| Don't Let Governor Schwarzenegger Slash Workers' Wages- Send a Letter Today! |

Six weeks after the legal deadline to pass a state budget, we still don't have one in place, and now Governor Schwarzenegger is ready to take it out on state workers. Schwarzenegger is expected to sign an Executive Order declaring that, as of Monday, nearly all state workers will have their wages reduced to the federal minimum wage of $6.55 an hour until the state gets a new budget. He's also planning to fire more than 20,000 seasonal and temporary employees. State workers didn't cause this budget problem, and they shouldn't have to pay for it. Help us tell Sacramento it's time to pass a fair budget, and stop using working families as pawns The Governor's "cuts only" budget is not the answer. We need a fair budget that includes new sources of revenue, in addition to budget cuts. Take a minute to email Governor Schwarzenegger and your legislators and tell them you want a fair budget solution, and you want it now. Send a letter to the following decision maker(s): Below is the sample letter: Working families didn't create this budget problem, and it's not fair to hold them hostage until it gets resolved. Cutting the wages of state workers is wrong, and it won't solve the budget crisis. What we really need is a balanced solution to the budget. We need more revenues, not just cuts. A 'cuts only' budget will hurt my family and others like it across the state. Please support the Conference Committee budget, because it takes a fair balance of cuts and revenues to keep California going strong. Sincerely, Yvonne Williams
